For families of an elderly parent whose need is psychiatric

Dementia & mental-health care for elderly parents — a calm home, doctor-led.

Caring for an ageing parent whose mind has changed is a quiet, heavy load. The nights they wander. The names they forget. The anger or fear that is not really theirs, but the illness talking. You may be exhausted, and torn with guilt for even looking for help. You are not failing your mother or your father. Some needs are simply too much for one family to carry alone. Asking for a safe, caring home is an act of love, not a betrayal.

Who this home is for

We care for elders whose need is psychiatric — a mind that needs medical care, not just company. That means dementia and memory loss with confusion or wandering, late-onset psychosis, severe depression late in life, and the behaviour changes that can come with them — agitation, sleeplessness, fear, or aggression that a family can no longer manage safely at home. This is doctor-led mental-health care in a real home, led by a psychiatrist, with trained hands close by day and night.

How we care for your parent

Safe, and never alone

A trained attendant watches over your parent through every hour, awake in the night when wandering and confusion are worst. Safety comes from kind, watchful hands and a steady routine — not from tying anyone down. The least restriction possible, always with dignity.

Medicines, given and ticked off

Each dose is given at the right hour and recorded on your parent’s chart, with a psychiatrist overseeing the routine and reviewing it regularly. No more fighting to get a tablet taken, no more lying awake wondering if it was. Everyday medical needs and health checks are looked after too, so the body stays as well as the mind.

A calm, familiar day

Dementia and late-life illness settle best in quiet and routine. Meals, rest, gentle activity and company come at the same steady hours, in a calm home surrounded by greenery. Familiar rhythm eases confusion and helps the day feel safe.

Family always welcome

This is a home, not a place of separation. Visit any day — no appointment needed — and we keep you updated on how your parent is doing. When it is right for them, you can take them home for a festival or family time and bring them back easily. You stay their son or daughter — not their nurse through the night.

How this differs from an ordinary old-age home

A regular old-age home is built for healthy seniors who need company, meals and help with daily living. It is usually not equipped for a mind that has changed — the wandering, the psychosis, the medicines that must be managed and reviewed by a psychiatrist. Bharosa Eternal Home is a Mental Health Establishment, a unit of Bharosa Neuro-Psychiatry Hospital, with psychiatric depth behind the warmth: a doctor close by, trained supervision through the night, medication managed and recorded, and the hospital’s backing if your parent becomes acutely unwell. Registered under the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 — Reg. No. TODO(asset): MHCA registration number.

We will always tell you honestly

If your parent is healthy and simply needs companionship, we may not be the right home — and we’ll tell you honestly. Our care is built for elders whose need is psychiatric: dementia, late-onset psychosis, severe late-life depression, and the behaviour changes these can bring. If you are unsure where your parent fits, simply call and tell us about them. We will listen, and answer plainly — with no pressure, ever.

Questions families ask us

Do you care for elderly parents with dementia?

Yes. We care for elders living with dementia — including the memory loss, confusion, wandering, sleeplessness and agitation that can come with it. Care is led by a psychiatrist, with an individual care plan, medicines given and recorded by trained staff, and a calm, familiar routine that helps ease confusion. A trained attendant watches over your parent day and night. We care for stability, safety and dignity — with dementia there is no cure, and we will never pretend otherwise.

How is this different from a normal old-age home?

An old-age home is made for healthy seniors who mainly need company and help with daily living. We are a mental-health home for elders whose need is psychiatric — dementia, late-onset psychosis, severe late-life depression. That means a psychiatrist close by, medicines managed and reviewed, trained supervision through the night, and the backing of Bharosa Neuro-Psychiatry Hospital if your parent becomes acutely unwell. It is medical depth wrapped in the warmth of a real home.

Can we visit our parent, and how far is the home from Hyderabad?

You are always welcome — visit any day, no appointment needed, and we keep you updated between visits. The home is in the green calm of Achampet, Telangana, about two and a half hours from Hyderabad by road, down the Srisailam Highway. We chose this quiet setting deliberately, because calm itself steadies an ageing, changing mind — yet you stay close enough to come whenever your heart says go.

Tell us about your mother or father — we’ll listen with understanding, not judgement, and answer honestly. No pressure, ever.
